We at Health Access California wish the best to Representative Henry Waxman, who is
recovering from a fainting spell earlier in the week. He was at Cedars-Sinai hospital, and even had to cancel an appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night.
Californians need him healthy, since we are in the stretch run for comprehensive health reform, and he's a central player as the Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, which has responsibility over health reform--as well as environmental legislation like the climate change Waxman-Markey bill passed last week.
The Chairman has a new interesting new book out, entitled The Waxman Report, which was
favorably reviewed in the Los Angeles Times, and details his many legislative accomplishments. We are going to need his experience and savvy--as well as the trust he has built up over the year--in order to get this done.
